Australian Economy Booming

CommSec chief equities economist Craig James said investors would be heartened by the continued strong momentum of the Australian economy.

He said the main forward-looking components of the survey including new orders and employment, were both sharply higher in December and both at two year highs.

'The strength of forward-looking indicators should give businesses of all sizes a tremendous confidence boost as they enter 2005,' Mr James said.

'The Australian economy has entered 2005 full of running.'"
